Is Paintballing The Date For You?

Is Paintballing The Date For You?

After a survey revealed that most Brits are sick of awkward silences on a date, Doing Something teamed up with Twentieth Century Fox to bring singles action packed dates, leaving no room for awkward silences.

Doing Something is a new dating site which takes first dates away from the restaurants and cinema and into the wilderness to bring you an action packed date.

Twentieth Century Fox commission a survey that found 84 per cent of 16-24 year olds find awkward silences the most challenging on a first date.

Nearly half of 16-24 year olds said that an action packed date would help them to lose their inhibitions, and have a good first date.

Nearly a third of those surveyed said they would go on a second date after an action packed first date.

Inspired by the film This Means War, which sees two spies (Tom Hardy and Chris Pine) battle it out to win over a women they’re both dating (Reese Witherspoon), Doing Something decided to team up with Twentieth Century Fox to curb the first date awkwardness.

Together, taking inspiration from the film This Means War, they have created three themed dates:

  • Circus Space – This involves a trapeze and a lot of trust! This date is good as it builds trust early on, something that is key in a relationship.

  • Paintballing – It’s great fun, and gets the adrenaline pumping. Just remember not to shoot anyone in the crotch...

  • Supercar – Everyone has seen the epic car chases in films, and this would be your chance to join in the adrenaline ride in a choice of Ferraris, Porsches, Caterhams and Lamborghinis.

CEO of Doing Something Matt Janes says, “Doing Something takes the awkwardness out of dating and moves away from clinical setting of a restaurant meal to something more natural and encourages more spontaneity.

“Going on an action dates immediately gives those on a first date something in common and takes away the focus from each other.”

Those surveyed were asked which celebrities they would take on an action packed date. The top five males were David Beckham, Gerard Butler, Jason Statham, Jenson Button and Harry Styles.

The top five females were Jessica Ennis, Cheryl Cole, Tulisa Contostavlos, Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox.
