New designer dress? What's she up to?

As London Fashion week is taking place we thought we would take a look at how an increased focus on appearance could mean that your partner is dressing to impress someone other than you. Illicit encounters looked into the fashion habits of its members.

The female members are known to spend average of £175 per month on designer clothing, which equates to $2,100 a year just on clothes. Average women will spend about £37.80 per month on clothes, which totals at £463.60 a year, so Illicit encounters members are certainly splashing the cash when it comes to their appearance!

Sue said:

‘I can’t afford designer, but on my first date with my man I bought new clothes and took extra care with my make-up and hair. I went the bathroom loads to check that everything was looking ok. It’s what happens, you want to make the best impression you can!’

Men on the other hand will spend around £21.60 over month on clothing; however male members are spending over £100 a month to impress a potential date.

When meeting someone now, it is important to look your best and you can achieve this by looking a million dollars in an expensive outfit as well as extra make-up and hair products to ensure that we are buffed to your best.

Spokesperson for Illicit Encounters, Mike Taylor commented: “When meeting a potential sexual partner, both women and men know that physical appearance affects your confidence. The clothes you wear make a massive difference to how you feel, certain colours lift our mood, while bold styles set out to impress. We have all had our confidence knocked by a bad hair day or the wrong pair of shoes, so it’s unsurprising that members on the site are investing more than ever in their appearance with new designer clothes, while making the effort to stay on trend and in vogue, as it can really boost ones confidence.

My advice when meeting a new lover is to wear colours that make you feel happy, cuts that are comfortable, and chose a smart/casual look to give you confidence without feeling over done - as there is nothing worse that regretting your choice of outfit on a date!”

Men and Women also revealed their top designer labels; Men chose Hugo Boss as their go to brand, followed by Paul Smith and Gant. While women's top fashion houses where: Mulberry followed by Jaeger and Roberto Cavalli.
