How To: Handle Heartbreak

How To: Handle Heartbreak

They don’t call it heartbreak for no reason, it physically feels like your heart has been shattered into a million pieces and there is a constant pain in your chest.

Eventually the ache will fade but until then there are a few things you can do to help your heart mend a little quicker.

Remove Reminders

One of the most important things you can do is remove all reminders of your ex. Obviously you’ll have some sentimental objects but for now you’ll need to get rid.

Having a constant reminder will only release fresh pain every time they bring up a memory so ask a friend to hide your sentimental objects from the relationship, bin the things you don’t need and gt rid of their number from your phone.

Friends and Family

It’s times like these in which friends and family were made for. Surround yourself with people who love you and make the most of their company.

Friends and family are naturally going to want to spend time with you so take advantage of it and make plenty of plans with them, you’ll soon realise that you’re definitely not alone.

Start Exercising

This is probably the very last thing you want to hear when you’re heartbroken but, believe us, it definitely helps.

We’re not saying you need to get in shape, the reason exercise is good (aside from obvious reasons) is because it helps to reduce stress and depression.

Keep Busy

Keeping busy is essential as it doesn’t allow your mind to wonder back to heartbreak central, it gives you something else to focus on.

Take up a new hobby, do things that make you happy and try new things that you think you might like to keep your mind focused on better things.

Meet New People

Meeting new people is one of the best antidotes for heartbreak because as human’s we love socialisation.

Not only will it give you a break from the routine scenery but you could make some amazing friends out of it and, who knows, you could meet your soul mate.
