Married couples only get sexy underwear for a 'treat'

The average married Brit spends £101-a-year on sexy underwear - but only wears it on nights out with friends.

According to new research, couples save their skimpiest trunks, boxers, briefs, knickers and bras for 'best' and rarely don them for their spouse's benefit.

In fact, the majority of erotic lingerie is never worn in the bedroom, with most couples preferring less appealing, but 'more comfortable' options.

The only rimes that it is worn, is for 'special treats' such as birthdays, anniversaries or on Valentine's Day.

A spokesman for men's grooming site, KeepItSimplySexy.com, which surveyed 1,000 of its married customers, said the results of the poll reflected couples' 'laziness' after tying the knot.

He said: "It's clear from our research that married couples rarely wear their sexiest underwear for each other's benefit, but rather on nights out with friends.

"There is no evidence that people wear lingerie on nights out in the hope of getting 'lucky'. From the feedback we've received, most men and women wear it to make themselves feel sexy.

"Nevertheless, the research suggests that couples generally become lazy after getting married and make more effort for their friends than for their partners."
