The Terminator texts don't you know!

Twoo.com conducted an experiment by chatting up Brits with catchphrases from the most iconic of film characters, such as Mary Poppins, The Terminator, Dorothy Gale, Mrs Robinson, E.T., Mary Poppins, Karen Smith and Dr Evil. We find out what happened!

Psychic breasts: There’s a 30% chance we’re already dating

Guy: Keen, that’s quite an exact number, how did you know that?

Psychic breasts: I have a fifth sense; it’s like ESPN or something. Also I’m a fashion expert, I can teach you everything

Guy: No Socks with sandals?

Psychic Breasts- On Wednesdays you can wear me

Lazershark: I could splash out loads on you. I have one million dollars!

Girl: Is that the kind of girl you think I am?

Lazershark: Okay, what about 100 billion dollars!

Girl: Seriously? #rude

Lazershark: Throw me a fricking bone here!

Hastalabigone: Your clothes, give them to my floor now!

Girl: A bit too soon don’t you think?

Hasatalabigone: I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle

Girl: Easy there mate, why don’t you buy me a coffee first?

Hastalabigone: I’ll be back

Lightfinger: You might need to phone home and tell your mum you won’t be home tonight

Girl: Haha weird but not thanks

Lightfinger: I’ll be right here

Girl: I’ll pass dude you’re creepy as

Lightfinger: Owwwwwwch

Twoo.com found that on the whole- people were flattered by the classic lines, particularly those delivered by Mrs. Robinson:

QueenCougar: My husband won't be home for hours…

Guy: Oh really? ;) Tell me more!

QueenCougar: I find you very attractive

Guy: Oh, I get that a lot, hehe.

QueenCougar: Would you like me to seduce you?

Some of the users, on the other hand, were humoured by the familiar lines of Mary Poppins:

Practically_Perfect: You know, I know my way around some very tricky words, like Supercallifragilisticexpialidocious.

Guy: Interesting. Do you have any other interesting talents? ;)

Practically_Perfect: Well, in every job that must be done, there is an element of fun…

Guy: Oh yeah, and, how does one go about getting one of these ‘jobs’ done?

Practically_Perfect: Well, It takes more than a spoonful of sugar to make me go down…

Lien Louwagie, Community Director of Twoo.com, commented: “We were very interested to see what happens when the two worlds – the real world and the world of famous fictional characters – collide. The results surpassed our expectations and we saw a lot of chemistry and banter. This also helped us identify some of the best and cheesiest chat up lines that, believe it or not, work! For example, “There’s a 30% chance we’re already dating” is guaranteed to get you a speedy response. “You might need to phone home and tell your mum you won't be in tonight” on the other hand, will get a few giggles out of your conversation partner.”

Twoo.com found that of all the characters Dorothy Gale proved to be quite popular with the texters- the smoothness of her words and cheesy phrases combined with just the right amount of humour won over those being chatted up.

Kansascutie: There’s no place like home, mine or yours. Pick.

Guy: Yours, I have weird housemates.

Kansascutie: That’ll be interesting, I’ve just moved house. Literally.

Guy: Anywhere nice?

Kansascutie: Just down the yellow brick road. I don’t think I’m in Kansas anymore.

It is hard to meet new people and sometimes thinking outside the box is the way to get someone’s attention- I mean who would have thought to do this? I wouldn’t and I am a huge movie fan! So get creative and capture someone’s interest with some innocent innuendo from one of your favorite movie stars if finding the words at first is just a little too scary!

Hasta La Vista baby!
