If you tell them you hate New Year- They'll ignore you- it falls on deaf ears because they think you're joking and that you'll come around.

You'll have to discuss it long before Christmas- Even though Christmas is clearly the most important holiday day. They'll want to talk in detail about what you're wearing, where you're going and fun you're going to have. Well, what fun they're going to have.
You'll be dragged out till the butt crack of dawn- They'll insist you go to their folk's house or to see their friends because spending it on your own is apparently out of the question.
You'll have to dress up- Even if it's not in full character, you'll be given a hat and some device to make noise at the very least. But they'll beg you to go as a couple so people know who your SO is.
You'll be expected to drink- It's their last chance to get drunk before they quit for the month of Jan while they're dieting and exercising off all the excesses of Christmas. They'll want you to join in with them so you don't kill their buzz.
You'll have to wait hours for a taxi- They'll forget to book one and you'll end up walking home, sober as a judge by the time you reach your own front doorstep.
You'll have to make nice- And pretend you're having the time of your life for their sake even though you'll be playing your favourite TV show episode through in your head.
You'll have to kiss at midnight and hug everyone who's present- Expect beer breath and the faint taste of vomit if you're partner has a habit of not pacing their alcohol consumption.
New Year's Day will be a wipe out- If you want to go for a romantic walk, make breakfast together or go to the cinema- think again. They'll be bed ridden all day and expect regular glasses of water and headache pills between naps.
They'll swear never to do it again- But you know a whole year later, their memories of feeling hungover will fade and they will be game for it all over again.
