Relationships on Female First

Summer is great for dating, picnics in the park, trips to the seaside, sitting outside basking in the glorious sunshine, but winter has a different kind of romance, and now the sunnier days of the year are behind us, here’s some hot date ideas, to keep you feeling warm and fuzzy in the colder months.

Try a baking class

Who doesn’t love a hot pudding, or pie for some comfort food when its nippy outside?

Why not try something new and fun, and bring out your inner Great British bake off self, and try out a bakery class.  Bakery School in London,  offers workshops on anything from baking bread,  Italian Biscuits to Mince Pies.

Outdoor  Ice Skating

Not all year round you get to enjoy wrap up, and hold on to each other for dear life, while gliding on ice. But at this time of year, outdoor skating rinks are popping up all over the city, which is more romantic than a indoor skating rink, with beautiful lights and displays surrounding them, many like the Canary Wharf rink, have menus which include hot chocolate,  wintery cocktails, and bbq food too.  Hampton court is particularly romantic, with Henry VIII’S 16th century pad as a backdrop and mulled wine on the menu to calm your nerves.

Hyde Park Winter wonderland

For a magical date, winter wonderland should not be missed. From Friday November 21st,  Hyde Park turns into fairy tale Christmas mode, with the opening of winter wonderland. It's free entry, and there is plenty to keep you entertained inside, including fairground rides, Christmas markets, a giant observation wheel, and two circuses, the magical ice kingdom, and Ice bar, there are also a number of themed bars with real fires, to keep you cosy.

Saturday night at the Movies

When its colder outside, its more tempting to stay inside, so grab 2 tickets to see a film you will both enjoy, indulge in some popcorn, and snuggle up at the cinema. For a more comfortable experience, try an independent cinema such as Electric Cinema in West London,  which is fitted with rows of luxurious red velvet beds,  further back are leather armchairs with footstalls.

The Aubin cinema have giant sofas, and even provide blankets and pillow like cushions for a super comfy experience.

Coffee and Cake

London is full of great little coffee shops,  with gorgeous patisserie’s,  great to escape the cold, and talk over a cup of something warm, and treat yourself to something sweet. Like Café L’eto, who have 6 branches, and have just opened a new store on Brompton Rd, with cocktails on the menu too, you may end up staying for more than just a quick one.
