Britain's Duchess of York is throwing herself into charity work since moving to Los Angeles.

The Global Forum unites people of all walks of life: students, business, faith, cultural icons, and social justice geeks-like me-to stand together for freedom. I've never experienced anything like it.

Sarah Ferguson - the former wife of Prince Andrew - recently moved to the west coast of America from the UK for a "fresh start" and will make her first official public appearances at the 2011 Global Forum on Human Trafficking on Friday (21.10.11) and Saturday (22.10.11).

Sarah is set to attend a black-tie gala at the Juniper Networks' Aspiration Dome in Sunnyvale, California on Friday night, where she will make a speech in front of a crowd including Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino and Archbishop Desmond Tutu - and will again take to the stage to speak at the summit on Saturday morning.

Explaining the purpose of the summit, Mark Wexler, co-founder of Not For Sale, who are hosting the event, said: "Every individual must play an active role in creating a world completely free of human trafficking.

"Day one will provide attendees with opportunities to learn and explore different models being deployed to mobilise individuals in the fight against trafficking.

"Day two will include workshops and focus on how creative approaches can address trafficking and help foster a zero-tolerance future.

"The Global Forum unites people of all walks of life: students, business, faith, cultural icons, and social justice geeks-like me-to stand together for freedom. I've never experienced anything like it."

Sarah - who is reportedly loving her new life in LA - is still close to her former husband, with whom she has two children, Princesses Beatrice, 23, and Eugenie, 21, and lives with him at his official residence Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park when she is in the UK.
