Olga Romanoff was once touted as a “potential Princess of Wales” but was “horrified” at the prospect.

The 71-year-old descendent of Russia’s former royal family was seen at one point as a potential bride for Prince Charles, but she didn't find the idea very appealing at all.

During an appearance on 'Lorraine', she was asked: "Wasn't there an idea at some point that you may have been linked with Prince Charles? In the sense that you would have been considered as a potential Princess of Wales. But you didn't fancy it?"

In response, Olga explained: "Harpers & Queen did an article about me being a potential bride. But they also did it on other foreign royalty, like the Swedes, the Luxembourgs. All princesses of that era, which I think was 1967. All possible ones, suitable as brides for poor old Prince Charles. My mother did the blurb in the thing.

"I didn't know anything about it until it came out and I was horrified."

Olga also revealed how the coronavirus pandemic has stopped her from offering tours of her country home, Provender House, in south-east England.

She also revealed that the old servant quarters can now be rented as an AirBnb.

Olga shared: "Normally we are open to the public and we have huge tours.

"Of course, last year with COVID, we weren't allowed to do any of that so not one tour has crossed the threshold. This year, there are only going to be a few.

"Also we know have a bit at the back which started off as servant's quarters then it became my father's Russian wing. We do let that out as an AirBnb now."
