The Duke of Cambridge showed off his £180 buzz cut by donning a pair of thick-rimmed spectacles to the ceremony - which was broadcast by BBC One - at London's Royal Albert Hall on Sunday (18.02.18), and turned heads with his new eyewear, whilst proving he takes both his looks and eye health "seriously".

Emma Ashwell, Head of Frames at Vision Express, commented: "With red carpet season upon us, it's great to see the likes of Prince William accessorising their tux with a pair of glasses - clearly taking his style and eye health seriously. His Royal Highness has gone for a bold frame here, boxy and dark which works perfectly for the occasion."

The 35-year-old royal - who was joined at the bash with his pregnant wife Duchess Catherine - had his hair done after growing tired of his brother Prince Harry teasing him for "going bald".

The handsome prince - who has four-year-old Prince George and two-year-old Princess Charlotte with the Duchess - employed his spouse's hairdresser Richard Ward and his deputy Joey Wheeler to dramatically trim his tresses into a barely-there style.

A source close to the hairdressers told said previously: "Wills sought Richard's advice, but it was Joey who was the one to visit the Palace and give him his new buzz cut.

"The Prince got sick of being teased by Harry about going bald and this seemed like a practical solution - and one that should stop all the digs too."

It was not just the prince's eyewear that was the talk of the night, as Catherine's dress was a big topic of conversation.

Whilst many women opted to wear all-black to show their support for Time's Up, Catherine opted to wear a dark green gown as royals are not supposed to engage in political protest.

However, the Jenny Packman number did have a black belt and the brunette beauty carried a silky black clutch bag.
