The shopping event, which offers the biggest discounts to Amazon Prime Members, has being rescheduled, with a new date yet to be confirmed by the firm.

Whilst they couldn't offer up a date just yet, Amazon has promised they will be "sharing more details soon."

In a statement a spokesperson said: "Over the last five years, Prime Day has become a special celebration and time for Prime members to shop incredible deals for themselves and for friends and family - and it's something we look forward to every year.

"This year we'll be holding Prime Day later than usual, while ensuring the safety of our employees and supporting our customers and selling partners."

Prime Day will still be taking place in India between August 6 and August 7, whilst the UK iteration is also still going ahead, but later than usual.

In 2019, shoppers were able to grab 25 per cent of Apple products, plus get their hands on the Echo range for bargain prices, and much more.

The day is always marked with special performances, and last year the US was treated to a set from pop superstar Taylor Swift, whilst in the UK Rita Ora played an intimate gig in London.
