The online collaboration platform's update will allow users to choose a more suitable time to send messages, which could limit things being sent out of hours.

Slack said: "When you have an important message to share in Slack but it's not the best time to send it quite yet, you can schedule it.

"Select a date and time in the future and rest assured your message will be sent whether you're at your desk or on the go."

The feature is already live and rolling out "gradually".

Messages can be scheduled up to 120 days in advance, and users can reschedule, edit or delete them before they go out.

They added: "You can view, edit, and manage your scheduled messages any time before they’re sent."

To use the feature, you compose a message as normal, then click the arrow icon next to the paper plane icon, before selecting a date and time - or a Custom one of your own.
