Brave brings Scotland to the big screen

Here are some exciting new ways to see the best of Scotland, just as Disney Pixar’s latest creation, Brave, is released on 13 August 2012.

As well as showcasing the capital city of Edinburgh, tours of Loch Lomond, Loch Ness, The Highlands and Stirling Castle are now on offer too. GoSeeDo.com's list of adventures captures the ancient architecture and storytelling spirit that inspired the filmmakers.

Follow in the footsteps of the film’s heroine, flame-haired Scottish warrior Merida, and ‘brave’ some of the capital’s spookiest sights. Here's some for you to try.

The Edinburgh Dungeons

One of the city’s most chilling and gruesome attractions. Roam the diseased streets of 15th-century Edinburgh, see the gory torture instruments used in the past, while encountering ghosts, ghouls and spectres at every turn. The Labyrinth of the Lost Souls beneath the Royal Mile is sure to terrify even the bravest of explorers, while the hair-raising Extremis roller-coaster is sure to raise a scream from all. Prices start from £14 for adults and £11 for children.

Gallows to Graveyard Walking Tour

Discover another side of Edinburgh’s history with a fascinating guide in historical costume. Hear gory tales and learn of delightfully grisly events as you’re shown around the actual scene of the crimes. Prices start from £10 for adults and £5 for children.

Ghostly Underground Walking Tour

Intrepid historians can learn the dark secrets of Old Edinburgh in the atmospheric Blair Street underground vaults. An event that can’t be spoiled by the rain, this is a sure-fire solution to the UK weather. Prices start from £9 for adults and £4 for children.

Secrets of the Royal Mile

This tour goes far beyond the usual guidebook-ready version of history and reveals more about the culture, crime, politics and people of Edinburgh. Guided by your very own qualified historian into the lesser-known sites, the stories behind Scotland’s capital will come alive! Prices start from adults £10, children £5.
