Bolton Mercure Georgian House Hotel

Bolton Mercure Georgian House Hotel

The Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel is ideally situated near the Greater Manchester and the Reebok Stadium; it overlooks the West Pennine Moors too, so you a room with a view can be requested upon booking. The hotel has plenty of secure parking spaces and is set back enough from the road not to be affected by traffic noise.

The building has 91 stylish rooms- ours was particularly striking in muted blues and creams, with light wood fixtures so it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. With a dressing table, wardrobe, free WI-FI, fully stocked bathroom and flat screen TV. it had everything we needed or a comfortable night.

We were fortunate to stay in one of the superior rooms which had an added choice of unlimited movies, a Nespresso coffee machine, newspaper, fluffy white robes and slippers.

In The Brasserie Restaurant we enjoyed a two course meal served by Samantha, who was friendly and chatty with us and the other guests. We enjoyed the Sweet Potato Soup and Fiery Chicken Skewers to start and the steak for our main course with fresh salad coated in pine nuts and sun blushed tomatoes with chips. All of the flavours were clearly inspired by international cuisine and with few others who joined us to eat it was a very quiet and intimate dining experience. Although we did not take advantage of it, room service is also available 24 hours a day or there is The Club Bar which also serves food around the clock.

We unfortunately did not have time to enjoy the heated swimming pool, however for those who feel like a quick dip or some exercise, the pool and fitness centre are on offer to residents.

With the Reebok Stadium, Middlebrook Shopping Centre, Bolton town centre, Greater Manchester and Cineworld Cinemas all in close proximity, there is plenty to keep you occupied on your stay if you are there on pleasure.

The breakfast was buffet style with all of the usual choices one would expect, from continental options to a Full English breakfast. We were served with tea and coffee when we arrived and enjoyed our well cooked meal that set us up for the rest of the day.

Overall, the hotel is a meeting of urban and rural with everything you need only minutes away but with views to trick you into thinking you are in the middle of the country. The perfect balance for a hotel in my opinion.

Thanks to Samantha and to all the staff who helped make our stay flow easily.
