Four Seasons Tented Camp

Four Seasons Tented Camp

In the past you’d have to fly first-class, stay in a five-star resort and have champagne for breakfast for your holiday to be deemed ‘luxurious’. Today it is all about the experience.

The Four Seasons Tented Camp located on the Mekong River in Thailand offers guests the chance to sleep in a tent surrounded by elephants in the jungle. Believe me it is far more spectacular than it sounds.

The camp is the height of luxury offering the most unique experience you can dream of. During the day you will be entertained by elephants, interacting with them in their natural habitat as well as bathing with them, eating with them and exploring the surroundings with them. They become your best-friend throughout the stay - an attraction that brings many visitors to the resort.

As the sun sets, you can enjoy the high-quality food that the resort offers while overlooking the jungle where it’s most famous residents roam free. A full a la carte menu with both Thai and international dishes is available and for those missing their home comforts, they even offer chips with Heinz Tomato Ketchup.

The camp is made-up of just 15 tents meaning there are never more than 30 guests on the resort so you aren’t likely to be doing much waiting around. The tents themselves are true luxury with heated pools, large free-standing baths and outdoor showers - the perfect way to relax after a busy day.

The camp attracts a mixture of people including celebrities and wedding parties, all looking for a unique experience at any price. Although it may push your budget boundaries, it will most definitely be worth every penny – just be sure to carry mosquito repellent at all times. Most guests will stay at the resort for three nights, usually as an add-on trip when visiting Bangkok or Chiang Mai.

For some, the idea of staying in a jungle would be enough to put them off but when in your tent, you are overcome by a feeling of safety, making it easy to forget your surroundings.

The Tented Camp has earned itself many five-star reviews from its guests but it is difficult to give the resort an overall rating as it is purely based on your own preferences, although they do offer fantastic service from the moment you arrive.
