Holidays can be the thing that we look forward to all year, where we can sit back, relax and forget about work, house chores and bills, however for a lot of people you don’t have to be on holiday to get the buzz!


Teletext Holidays produced the Great British Holiday Report that revealed Brits get the holiday vibe when they are simply planning to go and preparing everything needed for the trip.


31% feel that most elated when they are travelling to their destination, one in five of us get the most excited when we are booking the trip and 10% get flustered simply thinking about where to go!


23% of us book with only two months to go and 67% choose to do it six months before.

Of the latter 12% have their appetites whet by last minutes deals and book within a month of actually going.


 Amy Patel of Teletext Holidays said:


“There are deals to be had right up until the last minute and we’d encourage those people who would typically book well in advance, to keep their eyes open for last minute offers too”.


Men are the most likely to book the last minute offer whilst woman are twice as likely to book nearly 12 months in advance. On average we spend £554.00 per person while on holiday; however it has been found that 45% spend £400 and less, with a mere 17% spending over £800. This would suggest that Brits are opting for a last minute bargain rather than a holiday splurge.


Despite the rise of the ‘staycation’ and the budget stay, 31% still feel that they have been ripped off when they booked their holiday, with those penny pinching feeling this more often than those who have then means to be a little more extravagant.
