Long haul flights can be boring, but if you’re sat next to someone great it can make the world of difference to your journey, and according to a new poll, the world’s most famous singing teen is the top choice for the ideal travel companion on a long haul flight.

And though Justin would probably love to take an overdue nap on his next long haul flight, after his hectic touring schedule and his countless nights partying, if he was sat beside one of the 250 people polled by Gogobot, there’s no chance he would get even a minute of shut eye.

The survey of 250 Gogobot users revealed that Bieber would be their number one choice of celebrity travel companion, ahead of U.S. President Barack Obama, who languished in at number six, trailing other pop stars including One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles and American Idol judge Nicki Minaj.Stephen Fry is the only other non-musician to make it into the top ten, with the list dominated by American and British pop stars (scroll down for list).

Kelly Lees, General Manager of Gogobot Europe, said: “When it comes to a long haul flight, most travellers would rather sit beside a pop star than a politician. This could be because the average pop star talks less than a politician.

“Having a comfortable and convenient flight is a very important factor for the vast majority of holidaymakers. This is why Gogobot is such a useful resource for travellers to not only discover new destinations, but learn crucial details, such as the best flights to take, from impartial reviews by people who have already been to their chosen destination.”

The online travel community conducted the poll via its Facebook page and the top ten celebrity travel companions chosen were:

1. Justin Bieber

2. Nicki Minaj

3. Lady Gaga

4. Harry Styles

5. Selena Gomez

6. Barack Obama

7. Demi Lovato

8. Stephen Fry

9. Little Mix

10. Miley Cyrus
