Cable car

The Llandudno Cable Car is a mere 10 minutes’ gentle climb from the pier and shops and is not to be missed if you are visiting the town while you are in Wales.

Fit for two adults, or two adults and two small children, the cable cars glide silently up the hillside from Happy Valley to the summit of the Great Orme.

As you ascend, you can enjoy panoramic views of Llandudnno, Conwy Estuary, Puffin Island, Angelsey and the mountains of Snowdonia, tempting you to visit some of the other tourist attractions within the area. This is the best photo opportunity in Llandudno so if you want to capture some memories of your day, then you need to do it from 679 feet high!

Despite not being the only one in the UK, it is unique because it is the longest passenger cable car system in Britain. With a return ticket you can enjoy a full 18 minutes of peaceful reflection as you cast your eyes over the stunning views.

At the top there is a café, and a crazy golf experience and Victorian picture opportunity to entertain you for a short stay or you can take off on one of the nature trails around the prehistoric remains if you want to extend your visit.

Open 10-5pm every day, there is no excuse to miss this experience while you are in Llandudno. Having taken tourists up to the Great Orme Summit since 1969 and fully overhauled in 2006, it’s no surprise that this attraction still stands strong, as it never loses its appeal whatever your age.

An ideal ride for couples to cosy up for a romantic moment (perfect proposal opportunity fellas!) or an exciting adventure for children, there is something for everyone to take from this experience. It allows visitors to take some time out from the bustle of the town and the arcades to absorb the natural beauty of the surrounding area. Extend a warm Welsh wave to other riders in the colourful cars passing you on their way back up or down the hillside before getting off.
