This week I did two reviews of Novotel Hotels, the Excel and the Canary Wharf, Thursday I checked in at the Novotel Excel 3 minutes walk for the DLR about 15 minutes out of Euston, it was really easy to find.

Novotel Excel London

Novotel Excel London

The staff welcomed me to the hotel and booked me in as well as informing me breakfast was included in my stay and that they had selected me a lovely room.  As I went to go to the lift I was greeted by the General manager Michael and his deputy.

They told me a lot of information about the hotel and showed me where the bar area was, where I needed to go for the restaurant, adding that if I needed any assistance just call reception.

Also for added security, to get to your room via the lifts you had to use your key card.

Off to my room I went, which was on the top floor giving amazing views over the Thames, The Excel, (literally 500 yards away), as well as the O2 and in the distance City airport, this is an excellent location for all of these.

I was in a stunning open plan suite giving me plenty of space to relax.

The room had a nice lounge area with an amazing mural on the wall of the 02, a nice seating area, writing desk and lounger, then there was a huge comfy bed at one end with to one side was a mirrored shower and toilet - you can see out but obviously not in.

Robes and slippers were all provided, great for me as I like to get out of my suit at the first opportunity.

This would be the perfect place to stay if you intended to stay longer term.

I chilled relaxing on the bed watching a bit of television before taking a shower and changing for my evening meal.

The dining staff where really helpful, knew who I was and showed me to my table - again with lovely views over the river, I was offered a menu and something to drink.

The General manager saw me sitting by myself so came over to talk to me while I ordered my food, such a nice touch.

For my meal I chose my favourite, Rib eye steak with fries accompanied a glass of wine, the Manager told me some history of the area and the bronze statue of 3 men outside of the hotel all very interesting, but it made me feel good that he had taken the time to come over.

When my dinner arrived he left me to enjoy the food.

The steak was cooked to perfection and thoroughly enjoyable. I decided to go for the cheese selection it was a nice finish to the meal.

Following my meal I remained downstairs at the bar for one more drink before retiring off to bed.

I had a really good night sleep having set my alarm for 7.30 because I had an early start in the morning. I took a nice shower and went down for breakfast

It was self service, a selection of hot and cold foods fresh fruits and cereal I went for a glass of orange and the full English breakfast.  The sausages where the best I have tasted in ages, all washed down with a nice pot of tea - a perfect start for the day.

When I checked out I asked if I could leave my luggage behind and collect it later which was not a problem, they gave me a ticket and took it away.

When I returned the reception staff again where so nice, they all knew I was off to the next hotel so told me how to get there by either taxi or DLR. I decided to spoil myself and got a taxi which they ordered for me  and at the same time letting me how much it would cost, which was really helpful.

I would definitely recommend staying at the Novotel Excel all the staff her really helpful, the room was amazing and the food was really good.
