A couple of weeks back, I had to make the journey to London for a fantastic Amazon event, and so put my feelers out for somewhere nice to stay. When I heard back from Park Plaza County Hall representatives, I quickly took a look at the location online and was blown away by the rooms and views they offered. I snapped their hands off, and couldn’t wait to see what the hotel had in store.

Checking in was a pleasant affair; the staff were extremely friendly and it took just a couple of moments to issue me with my room number, keycard and details of the breakfast which was included in my package. As I was on floor 11, I took the elevator up and quickly found my spot for my stay. The keycard took a couple of tries before my door would unlock, but eventually I made my way inside my Junior Suite with London Eye view, and was blown away by the space offered.

At 36 square metres, the Junior Suites include free Wi-Fi, movies on demand at a surcharge, free access to the fitness centre, air-conditioning, a laptop-size in-room safe, an iron and ironing board, a luggage rack, flat-screen TV, work desk, lounge chair, minibar with refreshments at a surcharge, coffee and tea facilities, a hair dryer, an additional television in the bedroom, a kitchenette with a microwave and cutlery, a bathroom scale, a separate bathtub and walk-in shower, an iPod docking station, a Nespresso coffee machine and a selection of magazines!

There’s a heck of a lot to take in, but as a visitor it feels incredibly exciting to discover what’s around each corner. The entire Suite is open plan with the exception of the bathroom, which has a sliding frosted glass door. This can be a little off-putting for those who may want to stay with friends and would like their privacy when in the bathroom, but the glass is frosted enough as to ensure all of your jiggly bits are protected from anyone staying with you who may walk by to use the kitchenette!

In the living room, there’s a sofa which turns into the biggest sofa bed I’ve ever seen! It’s comfortable and gave my friend a good night’s sleep, but perhaps not as good as the hours I spent snoozing in the main bedroom’s bed. It was very easy to sink into after a hard day’s work.

Before that moment came however, I stood looking out of the huge window, enjoying the beautiful sunset view. I had to get out my camera to take a couple of snaps, as the sky was a gorgeous orange over England’s capital.

Ordering room service for the night, I opted to go for the County Hall Cheeseburger, which was served with Monteray Jack, onion rings, tomato, pickles, relish and fries, and the "Naughty" chocolate fudge cake for dessert. At £15.50 and £6 respectively, the main wasn't too pricey, but the dessert perhaps could be a little cheaper for what you get. Both were delicious, however!

The modern Suite is one I could have stayed in for a month, let alone a couple of nights. It was homely, comfortable, inviting, and a truly brilliant experience that will impress the majority of people looking to stay in London.

Check-out came at 12pm, which allowed plenty of time to enjoy the selection of breakfast items on offer as part of the room’s package. I became the stereotypical Brit here, opting for the Full English with poached eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans and toast, and grabbed a glass of pineapple juice and a mug of coffee to wake me up.

Though I had to get my keycards reprogrammed a couple of times (and was told by the staff it was because my keycard was being kept next to my mobile phone), my stay at Park Plaza County Hall was a genuinely fantastic one. I'll definitely be making a return the next time I need a great spot to stay in the city.

One night’s stay in Park Plaza County Hall, London was provided to Female First, in a Junior Suite with London Eye view, in exchange for an honest review of the hotel. Click here to take a look at the hotel and book a room of your own.
