Alton Towers Spa

Alton Towers Spa

Unfortunately, I was unaware that Alton Towers had a spa on site and I’m sure I am not alone given the other reasons that you might visit the park. It is a shame however, because for those who are not thrill seekers, water park lovers or merchandise shoppers, it is a great addition to the park.

Nestled behind the Alton Towers Hotel, it boasts many treatments from massages, to facials, aromatic body treatments, shellac nails, fake bakes or bare minerals make up. Aqua relaxation room has a large pool, Jacuzzi, Crystal steam room, multi sensory showers and Roman sauna at your disposal. For a small sum of £5.00 the spa can be accessed by hotel guests to relax and unwind in.

The staff were very friendly and provided us with robes, slippers, towels and lockers so we could use the facilities before getting our massage treatment. In the spa, there are reflexology foot spas and heated beds in a darkened meditation room as well as the aforementioned features. It acts as a great place to de-stress before a treatment and to cleanse yourself afterwards.

The masseurs gave us a fill consultation beforehand to identify if we had any prior injuries, bruises, medical conditions or were on medication. The back, neck and shoulder massage took 25 minutes, which was followed by a debrief of what that masseuse recommended moving forward. She advised me to have regular massages as I had a build-up of lactic acid on my shoulder, which I could feel pop as she massaged my back area. She told me about products that would help muscle relaxation from the range sold in the spa.

The spa was clean, quiet and every member of staff was professional and friendly and helped us in any way they could. I would definitely go back, as I find a day at the park very draining. This is the perfect way to recoup your energy levels after going on all of the rides can get ready for a night in one of the restaurants or bars!
