Nestled away in the Hampshire country side this hotel is the ideal backdrop for a relaxing break from the stresses and strains of daily life. The staff are friendly and welcoming ensuring check-in is simple and straightforward and with plenty of people on-hand to help with your bags should you need it. As we travelled there by train and taxi, booking taxis in the area seemed a difficult job – they were limited by the number of cars in the area – the staff were only too happy to help ensure you were looked after.
The décor throughout the hotel is traditionally furnished, but modern conveniences are not too far away either. The beds are huge and comfortable making for an easy night’s sleep – the only thing we warn against is the struggle to get up in the morning.
The one thing that will lure you up though, the delicious breakfast. Located in the Winchester restaurant of the hotel, the breakfast has all of your needs covered with continental and hot foods and an endless supply of tea and coffee brought to your table individually by the staff who are continually wondering around the room only willing to help.
The Winchester restaurant is also ideal for an evening meal, whether you’re staying in the hotel or just live in the area. Incredibly high quality food with an incredible service ensures you’re in for a lovely evening at the hotel. The Winchester Restaurant is traditionally furnished, boasting a contemporary yet classic menu.
It boasts fantastic British food at its best. A deserved winner of the prestigious AA Rosette it’s easy to see why this restaurant is an easy choice for when visiting the hotel with seasonal ingredients ensuring the food is cooked to its highest quality and an impressive wine list that will have you deliberating over for an hour or more.
But don't fret if that’s not what you’re after, you can sample a more relaxed dining experience in the Swing & Divot Bar or try the Plus Fours Lounge and take in the extraordinary views of the surrounding landscape.
