I'd love to be the first person to do something in 2009, but I guess I'm just going to have to get in the queue now that Lauren Harris, daughter of Iron Maiden founding member Steve Harris, is releasing the FIRST EVER world wide, time activated digital single one second into the New Year across each of the different time zones as they hit 00:00:01!
Lauren Harris look all sat to be the UKâs next rock chick and our answer to stars like Pink, Katy Perry and Avril Lavigne, is set to ârock around the clockâ on New Years Eve. Who say's us Brit's don't do it better?
A worldwide campaign is being launched and her debut single âYour Turnâ is the track that has been chosen as the first single to be released this way. This is the first time anything like this has ever been done on this scale and a first for worldwide distributor âThe Orchardâ who will coordinate all of the digital downloads.
The single will be released around the world in each time zone from Auckland, to Hawaii as the clock strikes 12!
Even better, Lauren has been confirmed to support Iron Maiden on their 2009 world tour and has quickly become a firm favourite with their fans. Not only is she making a name for herself in the rock world but because of her startling good looks (and obviously because of daddy) but she is also managing to cross over into a mainstream audience.
Her new album âCalm before the Stormâ is an eclectic mix of high-energy pop-rock tracks and has already received rave reviews in the alternative press. Lauren is now launching a full on assault on the British public.
It's amazing how far 'who you know' can get you? Shame my Dad has a boring job designing buildings.
