Amanda Drew, who plays mad Dr. May in 'EastEnders', has always wanted to be a doctor in real life.

I love Kara Tointon who plays Dawn. She is always really good fun and I've found it very easy working with her in 'EastEnders'. We try to see each other away from work as well.

The 38-year-old actress said she has always had an interest in medicine, and would probably have ended up in the profession if she hadn't started acting.

She said: "I inherited an interest in medicine from my mother - who is a nurse - and think working in a caring profession would be very rewarding. Mum has helped me out with pronunciation of the medical jargon in the past too!"

Amanda also said she loves starring in the soap, because she gets on so well with her co-stars.

She added: "I love Kara Tointon who plays Dawn. She is always really good fun and I've found it very easy working with her in 'EastEnders'. We try to see each other away from work as well.

"I've also worked with Jo Joyner, who plays Tanya, and Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning, before, and those episodes highlighted how talented they both are."
