The Hot Melts are one of the best looking new bands on the scene at the moment so FemaleFirst obviously had to track them down to find out what goes on behind their pretty faces and whether they could really melt [Geddit?] our hearts!
What have you been up to recently?
We are in the studio gearing up for our upcoming shows throughout September and October.
For anyone who hasn't heard you how would you describe your sound?
Un-pop, broken hearted punk rock.How did you get your break in the music industry?
We played gigs and got picked up by managment and got signed to a great label Epitaph. The rest is history.What makes you different from other artists out there?
The people in the band and the music we play.
What artists do you look up to?
Weezer, The Strokes, Smoking Popes, Grandaddy, Bad Religion, Talking Heads etc.
Are there any artists or genrtes that your not keen on?
Not too keen on the New Wave/Rave thing thats going on.
Is there anyone you would like to work with?
We would like to record an album with producer Rik Ocasek.
You went on tour with The Pigeon Detectives, how did that come about?
They chose us to support them out of a long list of bands.
What was it like?
Great fun.
Did the fans recieve you well?
Yes. Great crowds across the board.
What would you have liked to achieve in ten years time?
Everything we possibly can.
How important have sites like facebook and myspace been for you in getting your music out there?
Massively. They are a great tool for getting new bands heard.
