Yes Man

Yes Man

Jim Carrey's comedy Yes Man remained at the top of the UK box office grossing a further £2.22 million over the weekend.

Carl Allen's life is going nowhere, the operative word being "no", until he signs up for a self-help program based on one simple covenant: say yes to everything, and anything.

Unleashing the power of "YES" begins to transform Carl's life in amazing and unexpected ways, getting him promoted at work and opening the door to a new romance. The film held off a charge from Adam Sandler's Bedtime Stories which remained at number two.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa moved up one place to number three swapping positions with Baz Lurhman's epic Australia which dropped to number four. Twilight remained at number five rounding off the top part of the chart.

The highest new entry was Frank Miller's adaptation of the popular comic strip The Spirit which opened at number six, despite poor reviews. And it was a good week at the cinema as all top six movies broke through the £1 million barrier.

The bottom part of the chart was littered with new entries as Kate Winslet's Holocaust drama The Reader opened at number seven which the first part of Steven Soderburgh's labour of love Che: Part One, which follows iconic revolutionary Che Guevara was at number nine.
