Rory Bremner became the latest star to be voted off 'Strictly Come Dancing' last night (23.10.11).

I have a lump in my throat, I do feel I let them down, but I get it my best shot.

The 50-year-old impressionist - who was partnered alongside Erin Boag - failed to impress judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Alesha Dixon with his "flat footed" cha cha cha and landed in the bottom two alongside Nancy Dell'Olio.

However, the comedian admitted he was most upset at having to tell his two daughters - Ava, nine, and seven-year-old Lila - he had been eliminated from the BBC One show.

He said: "I feel like I let them down. I'm very sad, I had to come home and tell my children. They were so excited after watching Saturday's show and I had to take them in a corner and tell them that it was over.

"I have a lump in my throat, I do feel I let them down, but I get it my best shot."

Despite Nancy - who was in the bottom two for the second week running - and her partner Anton Du Beke bagging just 18 points out of a possible 40 for her gaff-tastic paso doble, Rory thinks she is remaining in the competition for being "fantastically entertaining".

He added to the Daily Mail newspaper: "Nancy is fantastically entertaining. When she dances with Anton, it's like watching a driving lesson.

"She's an extraordinary force of nature and she is good at what she does. But, of course, it's more than a dancing competition, it's an entertainment competition."
