A brand new teaser video released by The CW shows further glimpses of what we can expect when DC's Legends of Tomorrow comes to the network in the New Year, with the lines blurred between hero and villain in the face of dire circumstances.

Bringing together faces that fans of both Arrow and The Flash will have seen before on The CW, whilst adding in the core of the team through new character Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), it seems as if redemption is going to play a huge part in Legends, with people such as Captain Cold and Heat Wave being given the chance to change the world, rather than just taking from it.

The official synopsis for the series reads: "When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"

What's going to be interesting is whether or not the entire team can survive a whole season of travelling through time and come out of the other end with their lives still intact. They're going up against some of the biggest villains the DC Universe has to offer, and with the threat of Vandal Savage looming it's not looking good.

The series will star Darvill alongside Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller, Ciara Renée, Falk Hentschel, Franz Drameh and Casper Crump, with guest appearances expected from Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, Grant Gustin, Peter Francis James, Neal McDonough, Matthew Nable and Carlos Valdes.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow comes to The CW on Thursday, January 21, 2016 and follows on Sky1 in the UK shortly thereafter.
