EJ Johnson is one of the biggest personalities on #RichKids of Beverly Hills, and for many the reason to tune into the series each and every week.

His success has now paved the way to his own spin-off series EJNYC, which we got the opportunity to ask him about! Find out what he had to say below...

What can you tell us about your new series EJNYC?

EJNYC is my new spin-off series on E!. Viewers will get to see a very different side of my personality and life. I wanted to bring something different to my fans and address real-life topics and issues that so many people out there face. Throughout the season, we focus on gender identity, sexuality, careers, family, etc. It's super important that viewers get something from every single episode.

Is it easy to relax around the camera crew now?

Yes! Most of the time I forget that they are there.

Was it an easy decision to say 'yes' to your own series?

It was always a goal of mine and I'm grateful to have the opportunity and the platform.

You're working on your brand this series - what should we expect to see from you in that regard?

I share a lot of vulnerable moments with viewers. You are also introduced to my NYC friends who are different than the friends I have in LA. There's a different dynamic with us. I think that NYC naturally brings out a bolder personality in people.

We also meet your sister Elisa in the show - what's the dynamic like between you two?

Our dynamic is overall loving. Both of us have very strong personalities. We love hard and we fight hard, but no matter what we're always there for one another. Family is important and you see that throughout the show.

Can you tell us a little bit about the other members of your squad that'll feature on the show?

You'll be introduced to Drew, who is one of my closest friends from LA. Then there's Sanaz, she's very much sassy and opinionated, but she's an amazing friend. My friend Kyle I've known for a long time and in the beginning we actually didn't like each other!

Will there be a healthy dose of drama in the series?

YES! There's so many over-the-top personalities that it's almost impossible for someone not to bump heads.

What do you make of modern-day fan culture, with fans so easily able to contact you via social media and the like?

Sometimes it can be overwhelming, but I'm not the type of person to share everything online. I just recently joined Snapchat. You have to be careful that you're not too involved in so much social media that you miss out on real life.

Finally, what's next for you?

Aside from TV, I'm also interested in acting, fashion (of course) and dabbling in cosmetics.

EJNYC - Thursdays at 10pm on E!
