Kevin Simm

It must be a traumatic experience to have been through the music industry ringer, fall out of the public eye and then battle your way back into the spotlight again, but that's exactly what Kevin Simm did in auditioning for this new series of The Voice UK. Singing Sia's 'Chandelier', he brought a raw and emotional performance that had many people at home in tears. He's broken the curse of the former boybander who doesn't get a single chair spinning by claiming all four chair spins and should be a valuable asset to Team Paloma.

Lydia Lucy

Perhaps the most ready-made popstar out of all of the contestants in this year's competition, Will seems to really have passion invested in making Lydia a success. It took the Black Eyed Peas member just a few seconds to spin and after a bad experience on The X Factor, this could be the perfect reality television competition for Lydia. So impressed, Will got out of his chair to record some of the performance, whilst Ricky followed to take notes!

Cody Frost

Unsurprisingly, Boy George seems to have the edgier acts this year and Cody Frost has to be the most exciting out of all those he has on his team. Putting an incredible spin on ABBA's 'Lay All Your Love On Me', she's got a gorgeous and unique tone which she manipulates depending on where she wants to take a song. Already a master at what she does.

Vangelis

He has perhaps the most unique voice in the competition and was brave enough to sing a Culture Club song in his initial blind audition! Vangelis is a master at weaving his vocal performance around melodies, with his team mentor Boy George saying his voice was "pretty" before hitting his button and adding him to his team.

Deano

Though he at times allowed his nerves to get the better of him, it's Deano's vulnerability that actually really adds to his performance. He's got the look of somebody who could make it in the music industry and, teamed with Paloma Faith, could really create some amazing tracks in the studio.

The Voice UK continues next week on Saturday, March 5 on BBC One.
