First... Bushtucker Trial

Emily Atack kicked off the first Bushtucker Trial of 2018 with Viper Pit - and didn't she do well?! She got nine out of ten possible stars, but she deserved ten for the effort she put into trying to retrieve the missing star. After being bitten on the hand twice by an increasingly aggressive snake, she eventually abandoned star number two having accidentally pulled the snake into the cave with her.

She then proceeded to crawl through a cave of much larger pythons retrieving all stars before lying in a tank of shallow water for five minutes with the company of over 40 snakes climbing all over her face and body. That Trial saw a record number of snakes in one challenge, with more than 50 in total according to Holly Willougby.

First... Dingo Dollar Challenge

Anne Hegerty and Fleur East threw themselves into the first Dingo Dollar Challenge. It involved dressing as gnomes and getting completely soaked as they refilled a watering can with which they used to fill a barrel in order to power a hose. They then had to use the hose to push balls out of a maze which they inexplicably managed to do despite how seemingly impossible it was.

Unfortunately, their efforts were fruitless as the rest of the camp failed to get Kiosk Kev's question right that would allow Anne and Fleur to exchange their dingo dollars for scones and clotted cream. What a disappointment!

First... jungle wash

It wasn't an easy first night for anyone; sleeping in a rainforest without a tent naturally means you get soaked through on a regular basis. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean you get clean. The only way these celebs can wash at Croc Creek is the cold shower - or, alternatively, a warm bath that can only be filled by see-sawing to pump the hot water. Harry Redknapp was the first to grab a shower, admitting that he regular enjoys a cold shower on the daily, and Sair Khan enjoyed the first warm bath.

Meanwhile, at Snake Rock celebs only have the creek to wash themselves in. It was a bonding exercise for Rita, Fleur and Emily as they attempted an awkward wash in their bikinis in the shallow stream while squealing at the freezing temperature of the water.

First... dunny experience

Over in Snake Rock, they were reduced to fits of laughter when the sound of Rita Simons passing wind in the dunny seemed to reverberate through the camp. "How loud was that?!" Exclaimed the shocked Rita upon emerging to Fleur and James McVey who had tears in their eyes. There's just no dignity in this Aussie jungle.

In Croc Creek, John Barrowman and Harry were working out how to clean the dunny and it seemed there weren't any arguments about who got that job. As it turns out, Harry doesn't have a sense of smell. "I'm happy to do it because I'm no use with the cooking", he assured the camp. "That'll be my job: Harry the S***-Shoveller!"

First... meal

Snake Rock got their first proper meal that wasn't just rice and beans following Emily's Bushtucker Trial success: Wallaby Wings! Yes, there's no chicken, beef or bacon for these celebs no matter how well they do - though don't knock it until you've tried it!

Of course, many fans were left confused as they thought Sair, James and Fleur were all vegan and yet they were eating the exotic meals, but as it turns out that's not entirely correct. James is a vegetarian and he didn't touch the meat, Sair is not a vegan or a vegetarian and Fleur is only vegan for the health benefits.
