It's not a good start to the year for John Cena, who just recently returned to WWE after a short break from the business. The wrestler will this week be having surgery on his shoulder after suffering an injury.

Cena made his return to WWE programming on Boxing Day, 2015, in a title match against Alberto Del Rio. Winning the match via disqualification due to interference from the League of Nations, he didn't manage to claim the United States Championship, and it looked as if he'd be getting a rematch at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

Plans will now have to be changed however, with Cena breaking the news about his injury on his Twitter account.

PWInsider.com reports that Cena's suffering from a torn rotator cuff, and he's definitely going to be out of action for WrestleMania 32 where it was rumoured he'd go up against The Undertaker.

At this time there's no return date for Cena, but wrestlingrumors.net predicts that he'll miss up to nine months.
