Abbie Quinnen has backed her boyfriend AJ Pritchard to make a 'Coronation Street' cameo - after Beverley Callard revealed she wants to cook him one of the soap's famous hot pots.

The 23-year-old dancer thinks the 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' star would be a huge hit on the ITV soap and she would find it "so funny" seeing him on the famous cobbles.

Asked if AJ would do well in a 'Corrie' cameo, Abbie exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I think he would be good.

"I did panto with him and he just made me laugh the whole way through it.

"I think because they know him and he's really trying to act it would be so funny."

Abbie is no stranger to seeing AJ acting as she starred opposite him in panto 'Peter Pan' over the 2019 festive period, and she admitted he will be up for any "fun" roles in the future.

Quizzed on whether AJ might want to go down the acting route when he comes out of the castle, she replied: "Yeah, I think he would be open to everything.

"I think he mainly wants to do presenting with his brother, but he's up for anything fun and new."

Abbie's comments come after AJ's fellow campmate, 'Corrie' star Beverley - who portrayed Liz McDonald on the ITV soap - admitted she would love to make him one of cobbles legend Betty Williams' (Betty Driver) famous hot pots.

Asked who she would cook the dish for, she said: "AJ, because he loves his food."

What's more, Weatherfield could soon resemble the castle camp if Bev makes a return to the cobbles with AJ, because she would also love to see their fellow 'I'm A Celebrity' star Hollie Arnold on the programme.

Asked who she would want to run the fictional boozer with, she said: "I think I’d like it to be a woman, so I’d choose Hollie.

"I think two women should run the Rovers for a change and she’s really practical and sensible and she’d keep me in check."

Listen to Abbie talk to AJ's brother Curtis Pritchard about 'I’m A Celebrity' on the latest episode of 'AJ vs Curtis', a Global Original Podcast.
