Following the announcement, Janette’s husband Aljaz - who is one of the 'Strictly' pros - took to Instagram to say how much he was looking forward to appearing on ‘It Takes Two’ with Janette and second host Rylan Clark-Neal.

The 31-year-old ballroom star said: "My @jmanrara is the new host of #strictlyittakestwo with @rylan. Beyond happy for you!!! Can’t wait to sit on that sofa... @bbcstrictly Ps. ‘All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them’ - Walt Disney."

This prompted a number of replies from fellow 'Strictly' alumni, including Janette and Zoe as well as main 'Strictly' presenter Tess Daly who shared some clapping emojis while judge Motsi Mabuse wrote: “Congratulations”.

Announcing her new role on BBC 1 programme 'The One Show', Janette said she has wanted the 'It Takes Two' gig since 2013, when she first sat down with Zoe, 50, on the ‘It Takes Two’ sofa, and realised she had “the coolest job ever”.

She said: "I remember meeting Zoe eight years ago when I did the first ‘It Takes Two’ sat down and thinking 'This is the coolest job ever, you get to sit down, talk about dancing, make people feel good and celebrate their successes on the show' and I did think one day 'I want to sit down and do that'."

Eve Winstanley - the executive producer of 'It Takes Two' - expressed her excitement at Janette taking over from Zoe.

Her statement read: "We are so excited that Janette will be Cha Cha Cha-ing her way into the ‘It Takes Two’ family. Her love and passion for all things dance will bring something new and fresh to the show.”
