The 42-year-old presenter was due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court in London on Wednesday (04.04.18) after he was charged with driving under the influence following a collision involving two other cars in Richmond on March 18.

However, the court have confirmed in a statement that the case has been adjourned for two weeks and the 'Saturday Night Takeaway' star will now appear on April 16.

The court said in a statement to the Evening Standard newspaper: "An adjournment in this case has been agreed. Ant McPartlin will not be appearing at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. He will appear in court on Monday April 16."

Representatives for the star have said Ant has terminated all of his work commitments for the "foreseeable future" and has returned to rehab after he underwent treatment for prescription drug and alcohol addiction last summer.

His return to rehab meant his partner Dec Donnelly was forced to present 'Saturday Night Takeaway' on his own for the first time in 20 years last weekend.

But, despite his nerves, the 41-year-old presenter was praised for his appearance.

He said afterwards: "It's been the weirdest, weirdest show. But I wanted to say a huge, huge thank you to lots of people here. Most of all I just wanted to thank you guys. That reception when I came down the stairs ... I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I wasn't sure how I was going to do or how you were going to react ... but you carried me all the way through the show. I couldn't have done it without you guys. Thank you. I think that's it. I've talked quite enough this evening - enough talking for two. Thank you so much. And we can all go to the bar."
