Antony Worrall Thompson is set to make a TV comeback following last years arrest for stealing cheese.
The celebrity chef was given a formal caution by police for shoplifting cheese and wine on five separate occasions in 16 days from a Tesco store in Henley, Oxfordshire in January 2012 .
Now Thompson has signed up to appear on a star-studded version of BBC One game show 'Pointless' alongside big-names such as football legend Sir Geoff Hurst, former boxer Joe Calzaghe, actor Christopher Biggins, radio DJs Scott Mills and Gemma Cairney as well as 'Mrs Brown's Boys' star Brendan O'Carroll.
Antony - who is nicknamed Wozza - will be partnered by fellow celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli on the show, on which pairs aim to come up with the most obscure answers in a number of categories to win money.
The Sun newspaper reports a source as saying: "Wozza had his difficult patch but he's a popular face and people still want to see him. He'll be great with Novelli."
News of the 'Ready Steady Cook' star's return to TV comes after he was caught shoplifting cheese last year, which he later blamed on his "shocking childhood" after speaking to a counsellor.
He previously said: "My counsellor has come up with several theories and one of them is that I may be addicted to risk. Partly because of the shocking childhood I had I can't believe in success and I almost want to sabotage it.
"My counsellor keeps saying that I'm always fighting. He says, you've done so well in your life that the war is won but you keep trying to find another battle to win.
"Is that the reason I took those things? I'm still unsure but I'm going to carry on with the sessions. I feel I want to get more to the bottom of it."
