The Pussycat Dolls star has been the subject of plenty of speculation after the UK version of the show debuted over the weekend, with some viewers wondering if she was Octopus or Daisy.

Asked about the rumours on Heart Breakfast, she teased: "I mean, I've had a crazy busy schedule lately.

"I love a costume. I mean, you know I do like to have a little dress up."

The 38-year-old singer was then asked directly by host Jamie Theakston if she was Daisy, but Ashley still kept coy about the possibility.

She added: "I think you need to watch the show and find out, don't you? Don't you? Don't you?

"I don't know who it is. I really don't."

Jamie and his co-presenter Amanda Holden told listeners that she was looking "very shifty" and not making any eye contact.

Moving the conversation on, Ashley joked: "I don't know who it is though. I mean, I'm not sure, so yeah...

"Anyways, shall I get back to some showbiz stuff?"

Meanwhile, Model and bodybuilder Jodie Marsh has dismissed speculation she was behind the Octopus mask after the contestant said they had runway experience while hinting they loved weight training.

She tweeted: "I promise it's not me. I don't even know what the show is?!"

'The Masked Singer' premiered on ITV over the weekend, with Labour politician Alan Johnson becoming the second star to be unmasked and booted from the singing competition.

The show sees celebrities perform in costumes to conceal their identities from a panel of judges, consisting of Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, and Ken Jeong.
