Brendan Cole's tour bus burst into flames.

The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional has revealed him and his dancers were left shaken recently when the coach carrying them to their next destination as part of his 56-date 'All Night Long' tour caught fire while they were on the road.

Speaking to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper, he said: "The bus caught fire... it was quite horrific. All of them were standing there in their underpants in the middle of the night and had to go to Tesco to get a change of clothing so they could go to work the next day. It just shows how amazing they are. But we are OK. The show goes on.

"We had two shows that day... a matinee and an evening performance. I would not have been surprised if they had said: 'We are a bit in shock, we are going to have to stay off... you will have to do it without us.' but they didn't.

"All sorts of things happen over the course of a 56-date tour. But I work with the best and they showed their true mettle. Luckily, everyone was OK."

The 41-year-old dancer hasn't had the best of luck recently as the inferno comes just weeks after he found out that he'd been given the axe from 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

Brendan was hoping that bosses would renew his contract for this year but was left devastated when they rung him and told him that he hadn't make the line-up.

A source said recently: "He's seething that his contract hasn't been renewed and thinks the producers are running the show into the ground.

"He's trying to give the impression that he's not bitter, but deep down he's spitting feathers. He's sl***ing the Beeb off to anyone who will listen in private."

Brendan - who had been on the show for 14 years - suffered an "extra kick in the teeth" when none of the fellow professionals took to their social networking sites to pass on their well-wishes after they heard that he had been given the chop.

A source said: "It's an extra kick in the teeth. Not one of Brendan's colleagues came out in support of him, and it didn't go unnoticed. Over the years the pro dancers have been on Twitter hundreds of times posting messages about celebrities and professionals as they've left. For no one to say anything about Brendan who has been on the show since day one felt like a real snub."
