Alesha Dixon is going to make a return to music

The 43-year-old star started her career as a member of British R&B group Mis-Teeq but is now a permanent fixture as a talent show judge, appearing on ITV shows ‘Britain's Got Talent ’and ‘Walk The Line’ but she has been working on a fresh batch of tracks for her first studio album since 2015's 'Do It for Love'.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "She has been working hard on new tracks in the studio and is planning to release them next year.

“Alesha has been working on the songs for a long time but now she is pushing ahead and concentrating seriously on the tracks.”

The career move follows after Alesha decided to cut her old team in order to rebuild her brand.

The source added: “It’s almost as if she has a new lease of life after cutting her team and rebuilding her brand.

"Alesha has been telling friends she is her own boss and sees the next few months as her time to shine.

“It is such an exciting time for her and she can’t wait for her fans to hear what she has been working on.”

Alesha - who shares seven-year-old daughter Azura and two-year-old daughter Anaya, with husband Azuka Ononye - kept herself busy by sticking to a strict work regime during the COVID-19 lockdown, which included regimented songwriting sessions.

The insider spilled: “Alesha is putting everything she has into her music and during lockdown got into the best shape of her life.

“In between home-schooling her seven-year-old daughter Azura and work, she started a strict regime.

“Alesha feels more confident than ever both physically and mentally and is ready for this new challenge.”

In a 2020 interview, the ‘Scandalous’ singer - who was also previously a judge on BBC One show 'Strictly Come Dancing' - revealed she was keen to return to her musical roots.

She said: "I’m ready for the next record. I really want to make a heartfelt, honest record that really has something to say. I’m excited to get back, so fingers crossed.

“I was in the studio writing and then Boris Johnson said lockdown and the session had to stop."
