The two newest arrivals to the ITV2 reality show were both sent packing on Wednesday (21.07.21) after they found themselves in the bottom three as one of the least favourite girls and least favourite boys in the eyes of the voting public.

Islanders who proved popular with audiences were tasked with picking one girl and one boy to dump from the island, and it was decided AJ and Danny would be sent home, meaning Chloe Burrows, Lucinda Strafford, Teddy Soares, and Toby Aromolaran were saved.

Speaking after the result, the 25-year-old plumber said: “I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve been itching to see my family back home and I miss my cat, so it is what it is.”

And 28-year-old hair extension technician AJ insisted she doesn’t “regret” any of her time in the villa, even though her romance with Hugo Hammond didn’t work out.

She explained: “Originally, I thought me and Hugo had a spark, obviously I was wrong. I followed my heart and what I thought was the right decision, so I have no regrets at all.”

Despite being dumped, there could be a romance blossoming between AJ and Danny, as they teased they’ll “see what happens” on the outside.

Danny said: “Me and AJ got on like a house on fire every time we spoke, so yeah … definitely a little bit of a connection there.”

And AJ added: “I guess we’ll just see what happens.”

Elsewhere on Wednesday (21.07.21), three new arrivals made their way into the villa - Tyler Cruickshank, Georgia Townend, and Abigail Rawlings.

Tyler has set his sights on Kaz Kamwi, while Georgia has already admitted the currently single Hugo is “the one” for her, and Abigail is looking to cause trouble as Toby – who is coupled up with Chloe – is her top pick.

‘Love Island’ continues on Thursday (22.07.21) at 9pm on ITV2 and the ITV Hub.
