The 34-year-old actress' final scenes in 'Coronation Street' will air tonight (03.08.18) and Catherine could be set to join the BBC reality TV show for its upcoming 16th season.

After Catherine shared an emotional post on Twitter about her final episodes, she appeared to promise her parents that she will compete, after being told to partner with Alijaz Skorjanec and win the glitterball trophy.

She wrote: "I'm on it dad!! Promise! Cheers mum xxx (sic)."

Meanwhile, it has been claimed that BBC bosses are struggling to attract top talent to the show this year as stars are said to be wary of the so-called 'Strictly Come Dancing' curse, after a number of celebrities saw their relationships end when they took part on the show.

Capital FM's DJ Vick is the first star to sign up but many bigger names are reportedly staying away.

A source told The Sun: "'Strictly' has always been a massive draw in the past, but it hasn't been as easy this year. They've asked loads of top names, but with people like Louise Redknapp and Ben Cohen in mind, many in relationships are saying no.

"Bosses are obviously hoping to bring in some bigger names, but they need everyone signed by the end of this month."

Louise and her husband Jamie Redknapp ended their 19-year marriage just months after she competed on the show, while Ben is now in a relationship with his former dance partner Kristina Rihanoff.

Meanwhile, Catherine admitted she was feeling emotional ahead of her final ever episodes of 'Corrie' being aired on Friday.

She wrote on Instagram: "Well this REALLY is it guys... #Evas final episodes are on this evening @itv @coronationstreet ... The most incredible seven years of my life. With the BEST team. THANKYOU universe - grateful every day (sic)."
