The former 'Coronation Street' actor admitted he will "accept anything" and joked he would be particularly good at portraying roles for "middle-aged men who dress in loose clothing".

He wrote on Twitter: "The play I was due to do has been postponed again so now I really would like a job. Will accept anything. Especially roles for middle aged men who dress in loose clothing (sic)"

Earlier this month, Charlie measured his day's excitement levels on the fact he was enjoying his second cup of tea.

He tweeted: "I’m having a second cup of tea. That’s how f****** exciting my day is (sic)"

And just days before, the 48-year-old star revealed he has been chowing down on five meals a day during the third coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

He wrote: "Does anyone else now have five meals a day as standard? (Breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, 4pm meal, dinner) (sic)"

What's more, the actor - who has portrayed 'Corrie' character Marcus Dent in two stints, from 2007 to 2008, and again from 2011 to 2014 - recently feared he has been suffering from long COVID since October, and said he lost the use of his thumb and forefinger since Christmas.

He wrote: "I’ve been suffering from something that is looking more and more like long Covid since October, but since Christmas Eve I’ve had incredible pain in my arm and have lost the use of my thumb/forefinger. Has anyone heard of nerve damage related to COVID-19? (sic)"

Last month, Charlie had the Twittersphere guessing when he told how the "nastiest" celebrity he has ever met is someone he "had to work with closely for a long time".

He tweeted: "Taking my cue from @BridgLondon, who’s the nicest celeb you’ve met? And who’s the nastiest?

Nicest - Viggo Mortensen was the absolute best when I worked with him.

Nastiest - someone I had to work with closely for a long time ..... (sic)"

Vicky Entwistle - who played Janice Battersby on 'Corrie' - sparked speculation that Charlie could've worked with the "nasty" person on the soap, as she replied: "I know!!!! X (sic)"
