It’s another week of chaos, confusion and drama in Coronation Street, as wires get crossed, relationships are shattered and those living on the cobbles have to deal with yet more trauma.
Over the next five nights, we’ll see Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) accused of falling off the wagon and slipping back into his alcoholism, after missing his shift and taking over on the switch for Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
With Peter struggling to ask Steve for help, McDonald is disgusted by his state and doesn’t realise the extent of what is happening. When Peter later ends up in hospital and promises it isn’t his drink that has landed him there, Carla Connor (Alison King) refuses to believe him.
After having her old flame Lucas (Glen Wallace) turn up on the street to do business, Carla finds herself opening up to him about her worries. He explains that he too has lived with an addict and as such, can relate to the struggles that she faces in caring for Peter.
Now that Carla believes that Peter has slipped back into his addiction battle, when Lucas makes her a life-changing offer to move with him to Devon, and Steve tells her she should accept, will she uproot everything for a new shot at love, leaving Peter in the dust?
Elsewhere, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) is relieved when she finds Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) finally focusing on his coursework, but the relief is short-lived when his drug-dealing buddy shows up and whisks him off for another job. Knowing he could be in danger if he doesn't do what Jamie says, exactly how Leanne will tread this dangerous path remains to be seen…
With wedding plans being sorted out, new faces moving in and more, it’s going to be another wild week.
