The mother-of-two - played by Paula Lane - will leave the Platt family devastated when she unexpectedly dies in upsetting scenes to air in two weeks time.

Paula said: "It was very emotional to film the scenes knowing that I would never return and her death has huge consequences for David and all the family."

David (Jack P. Shepherd) and Kylie are planning to escape the cobbles of Weatherfield after police came to the conclusion that Jason's late father Tony (Terence Maynard) was responsible for the death of Callum Logan (Sean Ward), who is the biological father of Kylie's son Max.

But for Kylie, who committed the murder and then concealed the body with the help of David and his sister Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien), she doesn't get her happy ending.

In a teaser trailer, the Platt family can be seen saying goodbye to Kylie. After her suitcase is loaded into the back of the car, she gets into the front seat and is driven away.

As the camera shot gets wider, it is revealed the car is a funeral hearse and white flowers spelling Kylie's name are adorned on the side.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old actress is set to depart the soap after five years so she can give birth to her second child and spend more time with her family.

Of her exit, she previously said: "This has not been an easy decision for me to make. I have enjoyed every moment of my time on 'Coronation Street' and learnt so much in the process.

"I have an amazing on-screen family who have become friends for life, so this decision was not taken lightly. But sometimes you just have to follow your heart and I am excited about what the future has to offer both personally and professionally."

Whilst producer Stuart Blackburn added: "Paula is one of the most talented and dedicated actors I know and in Kylie she has created an unforgettable 'Corrie' character.

"I for one will miss both the character and the actor and on behalf of all at 'Coronation Street' wish Paula all the love and luck in the world and I'm certain that Paula's future will be full of continued success."
