The 22-year-old actress has portrayed Bethany Platt in the ITV soap since March 2015 but has hinted show bosses may kill off her character, but she hopes to remain on the cobbles for the foreseeable future.

When asked how long she plans to stay on the show, she said: "As long as they'll have me! Hopefully they won't kill me off, but you just don't know - it could be six months and I'm gone."

Lucy was delighted to scoop two prizes, Best Actress and Best Female Dramatic Performance, at the recent British Soap Awards, and admitted she felt "delirious" shortly after she won the gongs.

She said: "I'm really happy but it hasn't properly sunk in yet, I'm still a little bit delirious about it.

"I was so shocked, especially when I won Best Actress. It means so much.

"It's nice to know you hard work has paid off and people believe you."

While Lucy is loving her time on 'Corrie', she is in tears about her life at times, but has thanked her boyfriend Tom Leech for always being "super supportive".

Speaking to OK! magazine, she added: "He was buzzing, very proud. He wasn't sat with me, though, which was sad because I didn't get to hug him until later on.

"He's super supportive and always there for me - I need to cry about my days sometimes.

"There's definitely no talk of marriage, though, we're not there yet."

Lucy's biggest 'Corrie' storyline to date has seen Bethany involved in a horrific child grooming and sexual exploitation plot.
