The new series of the ITV figure skating show kicks off on Sunday (17.01.21), and there will be a new feature in which the judges - made up of Ashley Banjo, John Barrowman, Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill - will be able to give one pairing "the opportunity to be out of the public vote" in the first two weeks.

Christopher said: "There is a Golden Ticket situation for the first two episodes.

"The judges are going to give the opportunity for one of the celebrities to be out of the public vote, based on their performance that night.

"So there is everything to skate for to not be in that public vote for the first week."

'Dancing on Ice' co-host Holly Willoughby is hoping Myleene Klass will be picked out by the judges to avoid the public vote, as she is tipping the singer to go far in the competition.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz and other media in a Q&A ahead of the series launch, she said: "I am going for Myleene.

"I think she has got musicality, because obviously she is a musician.

"She is a performer anyway and I just think she is going to fall in love with it. That’s my little insider tip.

"Based on nothing, by the way.

"That's my insider tip."

But Christopher admitted it was too early for him to pick out a potential champion.

When asked if he has chosen a winner, he said: "We can't say that now. No way."
