Usually, behind-the-scenes drama is left exactly there, but not on this year's Dancing on IceWe've already seen how Gemma Collins isn't really treating the show as one would usually treat such a major job opportunity, and now celebrity contestant Wes Nelson of Love Island fame has hit out at Gemma's professional ice skating partner Matt Evers on Instagram.

Speaking on Heart Breakfast, Matt spoke about Wes's girlfriend Megan Barton-Hanson, who had been watching from the audience.

"She did look a little bit sour last night," said the pro. "Be supportive of your boyfriend! You know, he's working his little tail off right now and he was fantastic."

Despite the kind words about his performance, Wes didn't take too kindly to Matt's words about his significant other.

He took to his Instagram story earlier today (January 14, 2019) and wrote: "Are you that hungry pal? Megs (sic) gone out of her way to support me cheering me on and you still beg headlines attacking her..."

Megan then took to Instagram herself to throw some shade, but not at Matt. Instead, the focus of her ire was Wes's professional ice skating partner, Vanessa Bauer.

"Love that you decide to announce your breakup with your boyfriend on the night of your 1st performance with my boyfriend!" she wrote. "You've never reached out to me once or invited me to watch you train, it pained you to introduce your self (sic) to me last night you didn't even look me in the eye LOL hope the tactical breakup got you the headlines you wanted babe".

Neither Matt or Vanessa have responded to the social media slap downs, and we imagine that ITV will be pulling some strings to ensure the silence is something that remains.

If producers wanted some drama out of inviting a Love Island ex competitor onto the ice, then they've certainly got their wish! We can't wait to see how this all shakes out...

Dancing on Ice continues Sundays at 6pm on ITV.
