The 'Coronation Street' actor was crowned the winner of the one-off ITV show last night (17.03.19) after he wowed the judges with his rendition of 'From Now On' from hit musical movie 'The Greatest Showman', and he admitted the programme was "one of the most fun things" he has ever done.

He wrote on Twitter: "Sat here loving my fellow #AllStarSingers family. What a lovely, brilliant, talented group of people! This show was one of the most fun things I've ever done. Terrified & thrilled in equal measures. (sic)"

Daniel beat off competition from the likes of comedian Joel Dommett, and fellow soap star Amy Walsh - who plays Emmerdale's Tracy Metcalfe - and he is looking forward to taking the trophy back to the cobbles.

He tweeted: "Thank you all so much for all of your wonderful messages about last nights #AllStarMusicals! It was quite literally one of the best nights of my life. Still buzzing!! So glad to be taking the trophy home to @itvcorrie! (sic)"

Amy was full of praise for Daniel - who plays Billy Mayhew in the soap - and admitted the 'Corrie' crooner deserved the win even more because he is such a "lovely" person.

She wrote: "Well done to the ridiculously talented @Dan_Brocklebank for tonight's win of #allstarmusicals. A lovely human too which makes it even more deserved! Xxx (sic)"

Elaine Paige mentored the singers on the show, which featured 'Strictly Come Dancing' pro Kevin Clifton, 'Wicked' star Kristin Chenoweth and actor Trevor Dion Nicholas.

John Barrowman - who presented the show - wrote on Instagram: "Congratulations to everyone involved on #allstarmusicals especially #danielbrocklebank the cast of celebrity contestants all of the judges the crew #ensemble #hairandmakeup #wardrobe and thank you to a @itv for a #FABULOUS opportunity JB (sic)"
