The 43-year-old actor - who plays Mick Carter on 'EastEnders' - was initially desperate to get his hands on the present, but once he tried it out, Danny found the gift to be totally underwhelming.

Asked about his best and worst Christmas gifts, Danny replied: "I’ll tell you what mine was: a pogo stick.

"Now, a pogo stick in the 80s was the f****** thing. So, they tried to wrap it, but obviously I knew what it was - anyway, I really wanted one and I got it and I was useless on it. I couldn’t do more than two hops.

"Now on the adverts in America you could see kids going to school on them.

"Rucksack on, hopping around, when they’re waiting for the green light at the road they’re standing hopping, but it’s b*******, doing tricks on them, high-fiving each other."

Danny ultimately found the pogo stick to be the "most irritating present" ever.

He told the Christmas episode of 'Sorted with the Dyers': "It didn’t work out for me, so it turned into the best present then into the most irritating present I’d ever had."

Danny also admitted that he finds the concept of Santa Claus to be "weird".

The soap star said: "Isn’t it weird we make up stories about a strange geezer with a beard? Some large geezer with a beard that comes down the chimney, eats some mince pie, leaves loads of presents…

"We used to put out some milk and a carrot for the reindeer, then I started putting out some whisky - but that’s the thing, now I’m talking about some p******* who comes in your house and sucks on some whiskey, stumbles around a bit then f**** off."
