The ‘EastEnders’ star has been with the same woman, Joanne Mas - who he married in 2016 - since he was 13 years old, but he sometimes thinks about the idea of "free love".

The 44-year-old actor said: “The idea of being with the same person and having sex with one person for the rest of your life is a bit cruel isn't it? I just think about the idea of free love. If you were around in the 60s."

Danny - who became a dad at 18 when he and Jo welcomed their daughter Dani Dyer into the world - confessed he “only really recently” managed to get his “s*** together” as he ventured into middle-age.

Danny - who also has children Sunnie, 14, and eight-year-old Arty, with Jo - said: “I think older men grow up slightly. You've got to hit 40 when they really think, 'What the f**k have I been doing for 20 years?

"The majority of men, it takes a long time for us to get our s*** together. It was only really recently. I was a crank for many, many years.

"I'm always going to have that crankiness, but I suppose I can contain it now."

However, ‘The Business’ star called the relationship with his wife and its longevity “a beautiful thing”.

Speaking on his podcast 'Sorted with the Dyers', he said: "I've been with the same bird since I was 13 years of age. It is rare and it is a beautiful thing, but it does come with its hiccups.”
